Prime Minister Gordon Brown is chiding UK residents for the amount of food we throw away. Guilty as charged. I've been traveling a lot this summer and I return to a compost heap inside my fridge. As I'm about to leave again, I'm doing my best to eat everything before I go. I'm failing at this task. And it's a mini-fridge!
There's another factor to blame: the nano-second expiration dates on food here. Pretty much, all groceries have a shelf life of the drive home from the market. I would like to start buying milk by the tablespoon. And do you suppose they'd sell me 7 grapes at a time?
I guess this is what comes of eating healthy food. I've never had Cheetos spoil on me. Mmmm ... Cheetos. I know what I'm buying as soon as we set down at O'Hare.
